LAWRENCE, Rosemary (nee Lippert) - Born on September 8, 1916, died quietly and peacefully on June 3, 2005, at The Westmount in Kitchener. Daughter of the late Herbert Lippert and the former Genevieve Jones.
Beloved wife of the late Bruce Lawrence. Loving mother of Lynda Carter and her husband Paul of Kitchener, Candice Lawrence of London, Ontario; loving grandmother of Susan Flynn (nee Carter) and Sean Flynn, Andrew and Meaghan Carter, and Scott Carter.
Rosemary will be sadly missed by her brothers Terry, Dick, Pat, and sisters Virginia Rylski, Gwen McNenly, Angela MacDonald and Claudia O'Flynn-Phelps. Predeceased by brothers Jack, Herb, Larry, Bob and sister Jane Birchall. Rosemary worked in fashion all her life, and after "retiring" from retail, enjoyed a second career as a Mary Kay Consultant until her stroke in 1998.
During her struggles with cancer, diabetes and stroke, Rosemary was a shining example of courage, optimism, humour, and faith. Her kind and caring nature, her words of advice, and her sense of humour, even in difficult times, will be missed by all. Rosemary loved people and always believed in giving of herself. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1949. There she served in many positions, including the local City Council President, and was named "Girl of the Year" in 1976.
She volunteered in Adult Literacy and loved to organize parties and social events.
She felt strongly about the plight of children in underdeveloped countries, and was a faithful contributor to World Vision. She had a strong sense of civic responsibility and a fighting Irish spirit that allowed her to provide encouragement and support to her friends and family, when they were in need. She was not afraid to do what was necessary to help a loved one even if it meant fighting the system to secure the release of her brother, Pat, from a Cuban prison. Rosemary will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews and friends whose lives she touched along the way. Most will remember her for the twinkle in her eye and a bounce in her step.

Our grateful thanks to the kind and caring staff at the Westmount, who provided love and support to her during her stay."Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, cigar in one hand, favorite beverage in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!"
