AWARDS and RECOGNITION

SWEET ADELINE OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Sweet Adeline of the Year award was set up as a memorial for one of the former members of the Chorus. Mabel Wintersgill is remembered as a talented, co-operative person who always gave her best, brightened everyone by her wonderful sense of humour and at the same time could be serious and ready to offer sensible ideas and suggestions. It is always a difficult task to choose just one person for this prestigious award as so many of you have contributed a great deal to the chorus.

CAROL BRISBIN

2010-2011 Sweet Adeline of the Year - Carol Brisbin

Carol Brisbin has been involved with music all of her life as she grew up singing in church choirs and various other choirs. She has been a Sweet Adeline for a decade and joined the London chorus when she and her husband transferred to the area a couple of years ago. She was described by her previous Chorus as a wonderful, kind, and patient lady who has a talent for organizing. This became apparent to London chorus right away as she jumped right in and became involved with the Board of Directors. She was a dedicated member of the Board who brought many fresh ideas with her. She took on the task of being the President in her second year and has gone above and beyond in her fulfillment of this very important job. Her flair for organizing and her belief in the London chorus and in all its members have made her a wonderful addition to the chorus and we are proud to count her as one of us. Congratulations Carol.

THE MARY WILSON CONGENIALITY AWARD

This award was presented to London Chapter by the bass section in memory of the ever congenial Mary Wilson who passed away on August 23, 2004.
Mary was a ray of sunshine in our lives, friendly and outgoing. The word "can't" was not a part of her vocabulary, but rather the phrase "I'll do my best!".Mary always had a smile on her face, a great sense of humour and a song in her heart.

The membership of London Chapter has chosen the person whom they feel exemplifies these qualities and the award goes to:
